This it it. The premier Deck from artist Jean LaBelle. Many years of planning, inspiration, and wondering if it could ever come true...

But, cards are all about mystery, and enjoying them isn't only about knowing a game... it is even more about what is unknown.

Jean has spent his life with a dream... designing playing cards to embody a special mystery.  A Mystery which exists in the wonder of a life we all live.  A mystery also existing in Magic, where it is held within the magic of the cards.  The Mystic deck is born of life's mystery and a mood that is one of magic.
Jean's approach with the art is for the cards to be very crisp in design. The sleek look of the art gives the deck a sharp and striking appearance, clearly conveying it's mood.

Jean has envisioned creating a card Back Design with a crisp mystical design since he was merely a child watching home games being played by his artist father, Will LaBelle.  Jean became inspired by the mystery of those cards and went on to appreciate Magic and it's marvels.  Jean was further inspired by the art of his father, Will, who died when Jean was merely a teenager.

Jean went on to envision designs over years and through countless thoughts and dreams.  Once he began creating the design, he worked tediously and long on each detail.  He wanted the art to be magical and new, STILL it should follow the classic traditions of the great deck designs such as Bicycle®, Hoyle®, Aristocrat®, and Bee®.

As Jean himself puts it, "To me, the beauty of The Mystic Deck design is not merely about highly intricate details.  To me, it is a careful simplicity of the elements coming together to make an overall beauty.  Too many details would complicate the magic.  The details are there, but they reside within the mere flow of a line.  I am happy with the mystique that this design conveys to me and I hope that all of you will be as inspired as I have been."   ~  Jean LaBelle
